The secrets of effective logistics by Ponetex Logistics and Pepco Poland

Comprehensive service as an opportunity for long-term cooperation between the client and logistics operator - is a theme that has become the main issue presented by Ponetex Logistics and Pepco Poland at the conference "Logistics around us."

The conference "Logistics around us", organized by the Student Scientific Logistic Society AELOGIC operating at the Poznań University of Economics is a series of lectures on issues related to the logistic industry. During the two-day meeting, students are given the opportunity to see how logistic companies really work, what solutions they use, as well as what problems they face every day. The conference is also a forum for exchanging views, and what's more - contacts between students and the companies of that line of business.

Zbigniew Toczyński representing Ponetex Logistics and Paweł Piotrowicz of Pepco Poland presented the principles on which cooperation should take place between the client and logistic operator. These companies have been working together since 2005, when the scope of duties of Ponetex Logistics for Pepco Holding Company covered the storage, packaging and deliveries of goods to discount stores of Pepco Poland located on Polish territory. At the moment, Ponetex Logistics implements for Pepco Poland the following services: warehousing, packaging and labelling, domestic distribution and control of the delivery of goods, international transport, customs services, management of returns and accounting discrepancies, oder picking and promotional sets, treatment, stocktaking and reporting, the management of recyclable materials as well as the return of pallets and settlement of stores.

The aim of the speakers was to present how the comprehensive and efficient service strengthens the business cooperation, and hence greater scope of work entrusted by the client. The first step of cooperation between the two companies is to make the transport contract by Pepco Poland, which is then confirmed by e-mail from Ponetex Logistics. - This form allows you to take on a contact order without unnecessary delay - said Zbigniew Toczyński from Ponetex Logistics. In the next turn the order is passed on to the carrier that picks up the goods from the ordering party and delivers them to the warehouses of Ponetex Logistics. Once the forwarding advice is documented Ponetex Logistics accepts the supply of goods, which after the order picking and release, is delivered to stores of Pepco Poland.

- Those seemingly few, obvious steps are a part of hard work the whole team of people responsible for the route of goods since placing an order and their arrival to the warehouse till the secure delivery to shops. As a result of their efforts logistic company gains a reputation in the market and can expect to attract such large customers as Pepco - Zbigniew Toczyński added.

The conference "Logistics around us" was held on 25-26 February 2010 in the building of the Poznań University of Economics. Besides Ponetex Logistics and Pepco Poland there were starring representatives of the Office of City Hall and the Road Transport Inspection.
